Manblack

about

Manblack is my attempt to put more value on the human being than in the color. America is a very race oriented society, everything is that black guy or the white guy over there, the Mexican guy over there, we become defined by our race or color, not by our humanity. So hence I flip the word BlackMan putting the Man before Black or the color.

My man GrizzlyBeats out of Vallejo provide the beat. Soon as I heard it I knew it was going to be a powerful song. Shot out to him for lacing me once again, he also did my record "Familiar Faces" which you can listen to here to see the range....

ManBlack" A song that challenges listeners to see others for their humanity instead of their color. "ManBlack" is a flip on the word "BlackMan" aims to put the importance on the Man first.... Manblack by O-Naje prod. by Grizzly Beatz

REVIEWS:

O-NAJE's name means “the sensitive one” in Swahili -- which is fitting in light of his tender, Grizzly Beatz-produced track "MANblack."

The Oakland-bred rapper hopes the song "challenges listeners to see others for their humanity instead of their color," and describes the title as "a flip on the word 'BlackMan' [that] aims to put the importance on the Man first

lyrics

I wake to the tv another man killed shot down by police in the middle of the streets headline on every station no protect and serve no life preservation no justice no relation just protesters pacin holdin up signs screaming fuck the police, fuck 1 time. The consequence tremendous
With no accountability but I fire bomb the White House before you get away wit killing me... In this country you ya color first a human second should be vice versa but this country got it backwards, to many negative factors associate with blackness so I its easier to kill A black like its normal practice without thinking of the family that depends on them daily probably somebody's man or someone's ole lady, just ask Sandra Bland if she was seen as a woman first black skin no love put under the dirt...

Hook:

We our men we are women we are children from our mothers, for we were this before we chose to ever call ourselves a color, if you see me as a human your reflection will look like mine let your conscious be your guide
Cause we're all the same inside Manblack

Verse 2

Woman wakes up hits the daily grind got three kids wit survival on her mind a husband who supports her always got her back does it matter if she Mexican, Asian white or Black bottom line she a woman that no to handle business she deserve much respect and love without a limit but instead she just put into a box because her color so struggles a little harder endures more than the others. It's blasphemy It's wicked it's cold though laws planted by the bible from the days of old. Ideas are what we mold perceptions is power a black man shot down by police every 28 hours. I put my fist up for unity now I'm in they scopes got crooked cops pursuing me now they reading my eulogy I guess my color dictates my fate and not my deeds now my mamas I the front pew crying on here knees..

Verse 3

So was i born as a boy or black, because I'm black does that mean I'm quicker to attack, are you quicker to attack me, more than likely cause you badge up does give you the power of the almighty. Fuck yo badge and yo gun if you ain't using it for good, you'll get ass kicked bring that shit to my hood. I'm only a product of what you made if I hate you it's cause you hated me first you played me told me convinced I'm less than human so our ties are ruin between us I'll will and hatred inside brewin we both on edge pistols clutch tight In hand guess your land ain't my land cause lately I ain't really been feeling American far from patriotic your ways are diabolic I'm kneeling down with Kaepernick cause justice you lacking it need to take it back a bit and reevalu the situation if you wana call this one United nation
